Initial Ideas For Project

Firstly, we thought of the different types of genre we could our project on. These are some of the genres we concidered doing for our project;
  • Action
  • Horror
  • Rom-com
  • Thriller
  • Adventure
  • Sci-fi
  • Comedy

After thinking about each of the genres and how we could use these in our opening sequence, we came up with the decission that sci-fi would be rather hard to complete because sci-fi relies heavily on special effects which we do not possess the correct equipment. We also decided that comedy would be one of the harder genres to do as its very hard to pull off and look good aswell as the fact that previous attempts at comedy failed miserably.
Next we came up with what we thought would work best in making an opening sequence without much special effects or experience in filming. The two categories of genre we were deciding on was Horror and/or Action. The reason for this was we seen previous opening sequences to these genres and felt they worked extremly well, also we both enjoy watching these types of films. Therefore we already had many ideas floating around our heads because of watching action and horror films. We also had our own ideas aswell as adopted ideas from other films.

After concidering both types of genre, Action or Horror we finally decided that we would focus our opening sequence on the Action genre. The reason for this is, after question people we found out that people enjoyed watching action films over horror films, so this show that already our opening sequence would be popular. Another reason why we choose this genre was we already knew alot about action films, with watching them alot. Also we thought our talents suited action films more then horrors, becauase with horror its hard to pull it off and make it look good because of the blood & special effects. Where as you can do a good action film without special effects, as long as very thing is polished off well and the camera angle and everythign looks good.
